Ghost Robotics‘ robot dogs are nothing new. They have gotten a lot of coverage in the media. They are now being tested at Tyndall Air Force Base. These computerized canines are designed to help in reconnaissance and patrolling operations around the base.

These robots free up time to allow personnel to spend more time on training. More information is available here.
