Robots are going to do many things for us in the future. They are already being used by manufacturers to increase operational efficiency. COMANOID is exploring the idea of using collaborative humanoids in aircraft manufacturing. TORO, the torque-controlled humanoid robot developed at DLR, was used to autonomously place parts inside the aircraft fuselage.
The detection and grasping parts are vision-based processes. The above video shows how this would work.
