Roboticists and researchers are always borrowing ideas from nature to develop more sophisticated robots. These translucent soft robots are driven by frameless fluid electrode dielectric elastomer actuators. They have transparent bimorph actuator segments inspired by leptocephali.
The robot achieves a max forward swimming speed of 1.9mm per second. The above video shows it in action.
