Mech-Mind Robotics, a Chinese company that specializes in 3D vision, motion planning, and deep learning for robotics, raised $155 million ($1 billion yuan) in Series C+ funding. Founded in 2016, the Beijing-based company has raised more than $200 million in funding over several rounds.

One of Mech-Mind’s products is the Mech-Eye Industrial 3D Camera. Mech-Mind said the camera is available in various options to handle ambient light resistance, high precision, high speed situations. The company also develops code-free machine vision software for applications such as depalletizing, machine tending, and order picking.

Mech-Mind also offers Mech-DL Kit Offline Training Tools for deep learning. The Mech-DL Kit integrates the whole working process of deep-learning model training, allowing integrators to complete deep-learning model training in one stop locally. Mech-Mind said this helps save time and labor costs, simplifying the process while dramatically improving training efficiency and ensuring data security.

Mech-Mind said the latest funding will be used to improve it products, services, and delivery capacity. The Series C funding was led by food delivery and on-demand local services provider tech giant Meituan and IDG Capital.

Mech-Mind has its footprints in China, Germany, Spain, U.S, and Japan with nearly 500 employees. Mech-Mind founder and CEO Tianlan Shao recently spoke during Collaborative Robotics Week. He was a panelist on the session “High-Speed Bin Picking and Pick-and-Place Applications Using Collaborative Robots.” The session highlighted some of the latest commercially available hardware and software technologies, along with new development and deployment and techniques, to support bin picking and pick-and-place operations using collaborative robots. Last year, Mech-Mind Robotics raised nearly $15.48 million in Series B+ round. The investors in that Series B+ round included Sequoia Capital China and Source Code Capital.
