Teleoperating robots is going to be much easier with a VR headset and body sensors. Rhode Island’s Brown University have already developed a VR teleoperation interface for robots that allows operators to control machines from miles away.
The software connects to the robot’s cameras and other features, allowing operators to control the machine and see what it does. Such an approach could work in areas dangerous to humans. More info is available here.
