Meet Astro: FAU’s Smart Robodog that was brought to life with machine learning and AI. It has a 3D printed head that resembles a Doberman. It looks like a dog and learns like one thanks to a deep neural network. Astro has cameras, a directional microphone, and radar imaging to perceive its surroundings. It can respond to sit, stand, lie down commands, detect different colors, and understand many languages.

As the developers explain, this robot can be used to detect guns, explosives, and everything in between as a AI security dog. The below video shows Astro robodog in action:
