Stanford Engineers Develop Robotic Grippers To Clean Up Space Debris

There is plenty of junk orbiting planet Earth. Getting rid of it is not straightforward though. Stanford Engineers are working on a robotic solution to handle that. Their robotic gripper with gecko-inspired adhesives can be used to grab space debris.

These adhesives stick when load is applied. They are designed to survive challenging conditions. The robotic gripper was tested in multiple zero gravity settings.
