Meet the C-Turtle Robot: a turtle inspired robot by ASU students that can learn to navigate different types of terrain. It took one hour of learning to walk in the sand. The robot digs hard enough to propel forward but doesn’t create holes.
C-Turtle was made of cardboard, cheap motors, and a Raspberry Pi. According to the makers, the robot takes about $70 to build. More info is available here.
